Relatives place the coffin of Geraldine Buweh Atsie, a victim of femicide, on top of a vehicle at the Jamot Hospital in Yaounde on September 18, 2026. According to Cameroon’s Ministry for the Promotion of Women and the Family, 50 femicides were recorded between January and April 2026, and nearly a dozen in the month of August alone.
