School staff wrestled with 'anxiety and dread' before emaciated teen's rescue
Court records show an Ottawa school asked police to do a wellness check on a student who was found to be severely malnourished. The school had previously reached out to the Children's Aid Society of Ottawa but was "dissatisfied" with the response to its concerns.
