ASN: Low protein intake linked to kidney failure risk in Asian patients with CKD
Among patients with non-dialysis-dependent chronic kidney disease (CKD), low protein intake is associated with an increased risk for kidney failure requiring replacement therapy (KFRT) and all-cause mortality, according to a study published online Oct. 22 in JAMA Network Open to coincide with Kidney Week, the annual meeting of the American Society of Nephrology, held from Oct. 21 to 25 in Denver.
